Takeoff, a murdered rapper, will be recounted at an Atlanta arena.

ATLANTA, Georga – Fans will assemble in downtown Atlanta on Friday to recollect slain rap star Takeoff, a member of the hip-hop trio Migos, near where the 28-year-old was raised. The Atlanta Hawks’ home arena, State Farm Arena, is going to host a memorial to honor the rap stars’ life as well as music. Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and murdered outside a Houston bowling alley earlier in the month. During the incident, a woman as well as another man were also injured. There haven’t been any arrests.

Georgia residents were given tickets for free to the memorial, but State Farm Arena said the occasion had reached its limit and that fans without tickets mustn’t come downtown.

The ocassions program was not made available by the venue. Emails sent to the arena as well as Migos’ record label, Motown, also weren’t reported immediately.

Takeoff’s uncle Quavo as well as cousin Offset were also members of the Grammy-nominated trio Migos. Takeoff’s mom raised all three of them in an Atlanta neighborhood.

Migos made their debut almost a decade ago with the 2013 hit “Versace,” which skyrocketed in popularity thanks to a Drake remix.

Takeoff was the trio’s youngest member and was frequently regarded as its most laid-back member.

Rather than flowers or gifts, his family has requested that donations be made to The Rocket Foundation, which was founded in Takeoff’s honor and seeks to combat gun violence, as stated on its website.
